Terms of service.
These terms apply to every project you commission from Weymouth Software. By accepting a quote you agree to them. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Who I am
- Dylan Jones, trading as Weymouth Software, a sole trader based in Weymouth, Dorset, United Kingdom.
- You can contact me at hello@weymouthsoftware.co.uk.
Quotes & scope
- Prices on this site are starting points. Your written quote sets the final price, scope and timeline.
- A quote is valid for 30 days. The agreement starts when you accept the quote and pay the deposit.
- Anything outside the agreed scope is a change request. I’ll quote it separately before doing the work.
Payment
- A 50% deposit is due before work starts, and the remaining 50% before final handover.
- Projects under £50 are paid in full upfront.
- Payment is by bank transfer or cash. Invoices are due within 7 days. I may pause work on overdue projects.
- Prices are in pounds sterling. I’m not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
Your responsibilities
- Provide the content, logins and feedback the project needs, on time. Delays on your side may move the delivery date.
- Make sure you have the right to use any text, images, logos or data you give me.
- Keep your own accounts (domain, hosting, payment providers) in your name, so you stay in control.
Revisions & sign-off
- Your quote states how many revision rounds are included. A revision changes agreed work. New features are change requests.
- When I deliver, you have 7 days to report anything that doesn’t match the agreed scope. After that, the project is treated as accepted.
Support after launch
- I fix bugs in my own work free of charge for 30 days after delivery.
- Problems caused by later changes, third-party services or hosting outside my control aren’t covered, but I’m happy to quote for them.
- Ongoing maintenance is available as a monthly add-on.
Ownership
- Once you’ve paid in full, you own the code and design I create for your project.
- Open-source libraries, fonts and third-party services stay under their own licences.
- I may show the finished work in my portfolio unless you ask me not to. I never show anything confidential.
Cancelling
- If you’re a consumer, you can cancel within 14 days of accepting the quote. If you asked me to start within that period, you pay for the work done up to the point you cancel.
- If you cancel after work has started, you pay for the work completed so far. Any part of the deposit not used for that work is refunded.
- If I cancel for a reason that isn’t your fault, I refund everything you’ve paid for work not yet delivered.
- Projects with no response from you for 30 days may be closed. You keep any work already paid for.
Liability
- I carry out all work with reasonable care and skill.
- My total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid for it, except where the law doesn’t allow a limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
- I’m not responsible for loss of profit, revenue or data, or for failures of third-party services, hosting or platforms.
What I won’t build
- Anything illegal, deceptive or harmful, or anything that breaks a platform’s terms of service, including spam, scraping where it isn’t allowed, malware or account abuse. I can decline any project.
Confidentiality
- I keep your business information, logins and data confidential and only use them for your project.
Changes & law
- I may update these terms. The version in force when you accepted your quote applies to that project.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
